The S800 I/O is a comprehensive, distributed, modular process I/O system that communicates with the parent controller and PLC via an industry-standard fieldbus. The CI801 Fieldbus Communication Interface (FCI) module is a configurable communication interface that performs operations such as signal processing, monitoring information collection, OSP processing, hot configuration InRun, HART slot, and I/O module configuration. The FCI is connected to the controller via the PROFIBUS-DPV1 fieldbus.
