　　The IC200CHS002 is the VersaMax I/O carrier module. The module offers a modular approach as it allows for servicing, troubleshooting and replacement of I/O modules without removing existing terminals. Typically, the carrier module provides backplane communication functions for installation and field wiring as well as hosting modules.

　　The module primarily has 36 terminals arranged in two (2) strips labeled A1 to A18 and B1 to B18. The module is compatible with 32-point I/O modules or high-density I/O devices in the same VersaMax product family. The module has 4 public/power connections and is embedded with a keying dial that is set to match the specified keying position of the module hosted by the I/O carrier. The hardware also comes with a carrier pairing connector for quick assembly and connection to the backplane. It also features a module latch latch hole for locking the managed IO module into place.

　　The terminals of the IC200CHS002 can withstand transient voltages up to 300 VAC. During normal operation, the design voltage range of each terminal is 0-264 VAC, the current rating of each terminal is 2 amps, and the capacity of each power/common terminal is 8 amps. Each terminal supports the termination of up to 2 wires, and recommended wire sizes are AWG # 14 (average cross section 2.1mm2) to AWG #22 (average cross section 0.36mm2) for single wire connections. AWG #18 (average cross section 0.86mm2) is used to connect two (2) wires in a single terminal to short-circuit the terminal.
