The IS200VTURH1B is GE's main turbine protection board designed for the Mark VI system. The MKVI is built with a TMR (Triple Modular Redundancy) architecture and has a connected HMI (Human Machine interface) that allows users to access turbine data from a central location.
The IS200VTURH1B provides a variety of functions, including monitoring induction shaft current/voltage (to alert for excessive levels), measuring turbine speed to generate primary overtrip, and controlling three primary overtrip relays that are part of the TRPx terminal board. The committee is also responsible for monitoring eight Geiger-Mueller flame detectors in gas turbine applications.
The IS200VTURH1B has a connected single-slot panel with three LED indicators and a cable connector (J5). The panel is connected to the PCB by three screw connections. The PCB consists of more than 60 integrated circuits, 13 transistors, hundreds of capacitors and resistors, as well as diodes and inductors. The board has two backplanes, a female multibit plug for connecting the child boards, and several connectors created by conducting points and wires.
