The 1797-IE8 is an analog input module
with eight (8) non-isolated analog input channels capable of receiving 0-20mA and 4-20mA signals with 16-bit resolution. It is capable of converting analog data into digital data with a configurable data format and updating it internally. The module has an accuracy of 0.1% of the output signal range at 20°C (68°F) and a temperature drift of 0.05% / °C of the output signal range. The module's update speed is about 200 milliseconds, with the worst update time being about 1600μs, and the actual update rate depends on the distance of the module from the communication adapter.
In addition, the 1797-IE8 has an internal diagnostic function capable of detecting alarm conditions such as lead break detection, over/under range alarms, and remote transmitter alarms. The module requires equal rated terminal blocks and compatible terminal bases including 1797-TB3 or 1797-TB3S. The recommended insulation thickness is 1.2 mm (3/64 inch).
