Allen-Bradley 1756-L84ES is a GuardLogix controller belonging to the GuardLogix 5580 controller family. The controller is capable of performing standard controller functions, but it can also be used as a security controller.
The GuardLogix controller is compatible with security applications that require safety Integration Level (SIL) 3 and performance Level (PL) e certified devices. In addition, it comes with 20MB of standard user memory and 6MB of dedicated security memory. Additional integrated motion enables this controller to perform motion control over Ethernet I/P as it is capable of Serial Clock Communication System (SERCOS) interfaces. Integrated security features include security of EtherNet/IP networks (Kinetix drives, PowerFlex drives, security components), distribution and control of secure I/O, and generation and use of secure label data.
The controller supports programming languages specified in the IEC-61131-3 standard, such as ladder diagram (LD), Structured Text (ST), Function Block diagram (FBD), and Sequential Function diagram (SFC). For security tasks, only ladder diagram programming is supported.
The 1756-L84ES is capable of handling thirty-one (31) standard tasks and one (1) security tasks, each with 1000 programs, regardless of task type. The built-in Ethernet I/P communication port allows the controller to handle up to 250 Ethernet I/P nodes with 10/100 transfer speeds and 1Gbps communication speeds.
