The NI SCXI-1125 voltage input module (Part number: 776872-25) provides 300 Vrms operating isolation and low-pass filtering for each analog input channel. Its architecture is ideal for the enhancement and limitation of millivolt sources, voltages, 0 to 20 mA, 4 to 20 mA, and thermocouples. The SCXI-1125 can multiplex its eight channels into a single channel of the DAQ gadget, while also allowing users to add modules to expand the number of channels. The module also provides parallel mode operation to extend the output capability.
The NI SCXI-1125 includes calibration hardware that invalidates error sources. With programmable offset calibration, a software-programmable analog switch ground the input to each meter enhancer for offset error calibration. The locally available EEPROM stores the calibration constant for each channel of each input extension in the client signature area. The EEPROM also stores the arrangement of the factory calibration constant in permanent memory, which cannot be changed. The NI-DAQ driver software can verify the gain and offset error directly using the calibration constants. The device has an output range of ± 5.0V and weighs 22.6 ounces. In this model, each channel contains an automatic low-pass filter that the user can configure to either 4 Hz or 10 kHz.
