RET615 Transformer protection measurement and control device is a special transformer protection measurement and control device for the protection and control of double-winding power transformers, plant transformers and boost transformers, including generator-transformer groups in power systems and distribution systems.

The RET615 transformer protection measurement and control device is available in eight standard configurations to enable the transformer to apply a ground fault protection scheme suitable for high resistance ground or low resistance ground in different neutral ground modes. The CT ratio difference and phase shift of all used power transformer vectors are digitally compensated. The RET615 also features local or remote control of transformer high-voltage circuit breakers.

The RET615 transformer protection measurement and control device features support for the substation IEC61850 communication standard, Parallel Redundancy Protocol (PRP), and High Availability Seamless Redundancy Protocol (HSR), where the IEC61850 communication standard includes IEC 61850-9-2 LE. The device also supports DNP3, IEC 60870-5-103, and Modbus? protocols. The SPA-ZC 302 adapter protocol supports the Profitbus DPV1 protocol. For redundant Ethernet solutions, the RET615 offers an optional communication module with an Ethernet interface. Redundant Ethernet solutions are built on Ethernet-based IEC 61850, Modbus? and DNP3 protocols. The IEC61850 standard in RET615 covers both vertical and horizontal communication, including GOOSE messages with switching signals and analog signals, and parameter tuning based on IEC 61850-8-1. RED615 also supports the process layer bus with analog voltage sampling values. Using this feature, Ethernet communication can replace analog electrical signal wiring. Using the IEC 61850-9-2LE protocol, measured values are transmitted as sampling values.
