The 1797-PS2E2 module is a FLEX EX I/O series intrinsically safe IECEX 24 volt DC rated power module designed and manufactured by Allen-Bradley. The 1797-PS2E2 PSU (Power supply unit) is one of the most important components of an intrinsically safe system. The purpose is to isolate the input power circuit from the hazardous area of the electrical control circuit involved and to disable the conversion of the circuit problem from the input side to the output side. Another task of the 1797-PS2E2 module is to set the limit of available energy and adjust it to a defined safe level. All four output channels can be independently restricted by IS. The 1797-PS2E2 Safety IECEX PSU module provides 8.5 watts of power for each of its four output channels. This special device for explosive environments offers a voltage rating of 24 volts DC, which is the only power needed to connect components to the FLEX Ex system in hazardous areas. Input connectors for 24 volts DC are located at terminals 1, 2, 4 and 5. There are 4 terminals covering 2 power inputs for source input redundancy. The acceptable input voltage range is 18 to 32 volts DC.
Allen-Bradley 1797-PS2E2 4-Ex Output DC power module with IP 65/NEMA Class 7B flame-proof housing, improved input and output safety termination. The input DC power supply seal is M20X5 and can accept cables with diameters from 6 to 12 mm. The power output gland (there are 4) is M16x1 5 and can accept cables 4 to 8 mm wide.
